Some advocates of the diet claim that it can result in a 7-pound weight loss in just one week. Rumor has it that Adele has lost weight on a diet that allows red wine and chocolate. Adele is reportedly a fan of Reformer Pilates to strengthen her body, which helped the singer lose weight.

Ahead of the SNL set, which saw a whopping 5 million viewers tune in, Adele’s posts on Instagram (opens in new tab) showed how the star is slowly losing weight as she continues her weight-loss journey. Adele recently credited the self-help book Untamed by Glennon Doyle (opens in new tab) with helping her change her life after her incredible seven-stone weight loss. The singer went on to say that her weight loss journey was personal and that she never felt like she “needed to lose weight. Adele said she lifts weights in the morning and does cardio in the evening, often adding a hike or boxing lesson in the afternoon.

Adele attributes her weight loss to working out and has discarded any ideas that she had adopted a strict diet plan. She lost weight over the course of two years by consistently lifting weights and doing circuit training. Trainer Harley Pasternak wrote this 15-day weight loss plan (with lots of smoothies) that helped Jessica Simpson lose 100 pounds within six months of giving birth to her third child. But it’s only in recent years that Adele has spoken about her weight loss in person and explained to British Vogue why she hasn’t shared more on social media at this point.

The star’s personal trainer for the tour, Pete Geracimo, took to Instagram to set the record straight and revealed that Adele wasn’t the reason Adele began her fitness journey, but to get back to exercising after giving birth (opens in new tab), to improve her overall health and boost her immune system (opens in new tab), among other goals. When Adele’s weight loss first came to public attention, many speculated that she had introduced the Sirtfood Diet (opens in new tab) after she revealed that she had abstained from caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, and all spicy, lemony, and spicy foods for a while.
